Sony Vegas: Group Tracks

You can de-clutter your Sony Vegas timeline by Grouping Tracks. Select two or more tracks to group together. Right-Click one of tracks and choose Track Group. Then, choose Group Selected Tracks. The tracks will now be grouped together and you’ll be able to close and expand the tracks in the group by clicking the Collapse/Expand Track Group button. This is especially useful for grouping similar tracks together and hide them when they’re not being worked on.

Sony Vegas: Rearrange Plugins

Rearranging plug-ins in Sony Vegas is simple. Just click and drag the plug-in button to place it in a new location. This works best when you need to group certain plug-ins together. For example, I moved the Levels plug-in next to the Color Curves plug-in for faster switching between the two when color grading.

Sony Vegas: Solo Tracks

Soloing tracks or singling out tracks in Sony Vegas is easy. Click the exclamation point (Solo) button in the track header for a selected track you want to single out or Solo. That track will be the only one visible. You can also Solo additional tracks to single out a group of tracks. To remove a track from the solo group, click the Solo button again…

Sony Vegas: Remove from Group

A quick way to un-link your tracks in Sony Vegas is to use the shortcut key “U“. This is especially useful when you need to un-group audio or video to move them around separately. Normally, you’d right-click the clip and choose, Group > Remove From.
