Vegas Pro 12: Match Project Settings

Sony Vegas Pro 12 has made it easier for you to match your project video properties to a video clip. When first adding a video clip to the timeline, a prompt will appear asking if you’d like to match the project video settings to the media. You can also right-click a video clip in the Project Media window and choose Match Project Video Settings from the shortcut menu.

Sony Vegas: Draw Envelope Points

To quickly adjust envelopes in Sony Vegas, you can draw envelope points freehand using the Envelope Brush. With the Normal Edit or Envelope tool active, hover over an envelope. Hold Shift to display the Envelope Brush cursor. As you drag the cursor along the track, a trail of envelope points are created. When you release the mouse button, the points will remain.

Sony Vegas: Sort Your Media with Bins

Sorting media in Sony Vegas can be very helpful when trying to keep your project organized. To create a bin, Right-Click a Parent Bin and choose Create New Bin. You can rename this bin as needed. Then, you can simply drag your media from the All Media bin to your new bin. This will only create a copy of the media to the new bin meaning, you can delete footage from bins with no affect on the actual clip.

Sony Vegas: Change Display Colors

Vegas Pro gives you the options to adjust Track colors, Envelope colors, Snap colors as well as the intensity of the icons in the track header. To view and change these settings, go to Options > Preferences and click the Display Tab. From here, you can make the appropriate color adjustments.
