Get “Cache My Work”

Have you ever wondered if there was a way to save all open applications when you log off like you can on the Mac? You can shutdown, logoff, restart your computer and when you log back in, all your applications will re-open. Windows has no built in features for this but I think I found a good alternative. It’s called “Cache My Work”. It basically does all that! Saves open applications and folders when you logoff/restart or shut down your computer and they will then reopen when you log back in!

Well YouTube’s done it again! They’ve updated their channel designs. This time, they haven’t left much design flexibility for non-partners. No more transparency, etc. Even though, I still put together a nice little template for you guys to use in Photoshop when designing your layout. This is not meant to be used as a background right off the bat but to provide help when designing them. Be sure to crop it to the length needed. Hope this helps!

Today, I’ll show you how to create this “Cool Blue” text effect I put together in Photoshop. You can download the PSD file below! If you like this, feel free to share it along!

How-to:

1.Start Photoshop and create a new document. I set the size to 1280px by 720px but you can make it bigger or smaller depending on the project your working on. Next I added some text with the following styles;

  • Font: Impact
  • Size: 274 pt
  • Color: #00a9e8

2.Then I’ve added the following layer styles to my text layer.

  • Drop Shadow
  • Inner Shadow
  • Inner Glow
  • Bevel and Emboss
  • Stroke
Click through the tabs below to see the settings I used for each layer style.

I’ve also added a nice little grey background for the text too. That’s it! You can download the PSD below and copy the layer styles from my text layer to your own!
